How To Prep Your Roof for Springtime

Roofs can be impacted by winter elements regardless of material and age. Make sure your home is prepared for Springtime by checking a few small things!

  1. Check Gutters for Accumulation

Make sure your roofs are clear of sticks, debris, leaves, and branches to ensure spring showers smoothly run through your gutters.

2. Assess for Roof Damage

Checking for roof damage can be done from the ground, so there’s no need to get a ladder out! Look for discolored, missing, or damaged shingles. You also need to make sure your flashing is properly secure and not torn or missing. If you notice flashing that looks damaged, it is important that you call a professional to make sure that your house is not susceptible to leaks.

3. Check Your Attic

From the outside, you may not be able to spot water damage to your roof, so it is important to check the attic for potential water damage or leaks. When checking your attic, check along your roof’s peaks!

4. Repair Quickly

If you notice anything out of the ordinary or anything that needs to be fixed, call a professional quickly so your home is well equipped for the upcoming spring months!
